12-inch Round Wheel Mod for ESX
I really like the feel and size of the 12" wheel. It feels really good in the hand. I have big hands so this was a day one upgrade before the R5 bundle was ever installed. I like how easy it was to install and that it came with paddle extensions. The stitching on the wheel is good and the vinyl cover doesn't feel cheap at all.
After 8 months of weekly use, the wheel still looks good as new. For comparison I have attached two pics: the close up is today and the other is from Day 1.
The size is definitely an improvement over the original ES wheel and having no flat bottom makes it much better for drift/rally driving in my opinion. However the wheel is extremely flimsy even compared to the original ES wheel. I would buy it again but I was surprised by how much flex there is so just understand it isn't super solid feeling.
Brand new to sim racing. Chose MOZA R5 as my first setup. I really enjoy circle track so the 12" round wheel was the perfect choice.
When I got my ES wheel, I swapped the rim to the 12" before I even uncovered the connector. Actually using it, it's a lot smoother than I had expected, but that just means that it glides that much easier under your fingers when letting the back end of your car out, while still being plenty grippy when you're holding onto it. This should be the default wheel rim that comes with an ES hub
