Very nice looking product and after some testing looks very promising for our application, however there is one huge mistake in design. This is POWER push button, which needs to be pressed to power up the device. We finding this worst idea ever as this unit can't be built into any sort of enclosure. This excludes product from such an application. Guys, you should redesign this and do latching power switch instead. If not that major issue, product would get 5 stars from me easily.
Vraiment super comme boite de vitesse . je m'en sert sur Ets2 et Ats
I installed it with a 150mm aluminum extension to use exclusively for helicopters and the DRACO (PZL-104 Wilga 35) airplane since I own one, and it feels great. It's very well built, all metal, looks great. Time will tell if the force feedback is worth paying 3 times what a regular cyclic costs, but if you want the best one currently out there, this is it.
Fantastic bit of kit, as a flight stick, or as a shifter. 10/10
First off this is a review of the base as a shifter only as of now so disregard if using it as an actual flight base
I really want to love this shifter but it's missing some pretty important "active shifter" type features as of now to be able to fully recommend it, but I believe all these could be solved in software
Pros: The base itself is very high quality and has plenty of torque
The ability to change gates is pretty cool
The gear engagement feels quite good
There's options for vibration on shift (though at this price point you probably have shakers on your rig that'll do this better)
There's effects for damping based on rpm, as well as simulated gear disengagement feel when shifting out of gear at incorrect rpms
The amount of settings you can change to dial in the general feel are also great
And it's probably the longest throw shifter available on the market right now
Cons: The gates are somewhat finicky especially on the left and right edges, they seem to prefer to suck you into the outer gears more than the center ones, this means if using the 7+r pattern it will want to pull you into 1, 2, 7, or r, you'll notice this most when shifting up from 4th to 5th, as even when pushing directly upwards into 5th you'll feel it try to sorta slip it's way over into 7th
There's no clutch lockout! You'd think on a force feedback shifter this would be one of the highest priority features, but as of now this is not an option
Rarely the force feedback, will shoot the shifter to the side when going into gear, like the virtual wall disappears and it pulls you all the way to the side for a second before locking itself in like normal
On the even numbered shift patterns the now empty slot above reverse will still let you lock in as if there's a gear there but without registering an actual input, making it basically worthless to pick them as they feel exactly the same
When moving the shifter fast it feels super sloppy and you really can't feel the gates that well
General feedback: I'd love the option to add a spring gate like some vehicles have to stop accidental shifts into reverse, making a virtual wall where it just ups the spring force on the horizontal axis before the reverse gear's row, as there's no push down lockout on this base obviously.
I would also like to be able to make custom gate pattern layouts instead of relying on premade ones only
The ability to swap gate patterns with hotkeys would be very useful as you can only do it through the pit house at the moment
This is my first force feedback controller and WOW, what a difference it makes. Flying Helos I can finally use the pilot trim as it should be used, and yes it does make the likes of hovering easier as you're not fighting the centering of the stick. Fly the F16 and there is very little movement (as it should be). It enhances every flight. I have just purchased the throttle and control panel and I hope it won't be long before the pedals are out. Keep up the good work MOZA.
great service
Coming from Honeycomb yoke, I absolutely adore the AB9, the ffb takes the sim flying to another level of immersion. I immediately ordered the Moza ffb Yoke and mBooster pedal for racing after trying Moza. As a product its flawless, but getting it to Kuwait was not easy. Mostly because the shipping cost is so asteonamical it better to place big order to justify it. Therefore I had to use mail forwarding company to get the AB9 shipped to US then to Kuwait. The 2nd order, I took the risk and placed an order to be shipped directly to Kuwait from Moza global. The order was split and some small items were shipped by Yanwen! Its taking 2 weeks to arrive in Kuwait and tracking shows that another 2 weeks needed before arriving to me! Now I worry that rest of order will be also shopped with Yanwen, the slowest possible way of shipping. I mean for paying almost 3,000$ for items I would expect DHL or FedEx like other sim companies I order directly from (simagic from HK, and Asetek from Denmark) and takes like a week to arrive. That's why this review is 4 and not 5 stars because of the service. C'mon Moza, you can do better for your non-us and non-e.u. customers.
